Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (Paterson Field)
Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (Paterson Field) in the United States is a major installation of the U.S. Air Force. Located in Greene and Montgomery counties in Ohio, the base is home to the Air Force Materiel Command’s headquarters, the Air Force Institute of Technology, and the National Air and Space Intelligence Center. With a workforce of more than 27,000 personnel, the base is the largest single site employer in the state. It is home to the Air Force Museum, which houses a collection of nearly 300 aircraft and space vehicles from all periods of aviation history, from a replica of the Wright brothers’ 1903 Flyer to the F-22 Raptor. With its unique combination of aerospace research, development and operational missions, the base has earned the reputation of being the “Crossroads of the Air Force.”
